Welcome.
UPDATE: In the near future I hope to be interviewing local, well known Medium Anita Gordon to get an insight into life as a medium

My Haunted House, Hessle Foreshore.
I used to live in a very big, grand house on Hessle Foreshore (pictured right). I have not been able to find much history about the house other then at one time it belonged to a harbour master when boats would dock on the river Humber. The road itself was called Cliff Road, therefore, the house was called The Cliff. It had a huge garden, long drive with gates at the top of the drive way. Nowadays, the site where my house and garden was, stand many newly built houses and flats that are very nice but don't really have the charm my old house had.
I will ask you as the reader to be a little patient with me, when my family and I lived hee I was very young so memories are vague and along ith memories I am going along with things my family have told me.
As you can see from the picture it is rather a large house, I think 7 or 8 bedrooms, large living room and also dining room and as you can see a long conservatory. What you cannot see in the picture is that the house had huge French doors, large enough to drive an average sized car through into the living room.
Anyway, this is the house where me and my family lived when we were all together. There are a few different experiences from this house, mostly I have been told about them but I do hav slight memories.

No.1 The Old Lady.
I have an older brother and one day we were out in the garden playing with an air rifle shooting at trees. My brother probably should have been at school but decided to stay home with my mum and me. As I say we were out playing having fun and just being boys. My brother looks down the drive way towards the main gates and spots an old lady looking over the gates towards the house, she seemed to be really having a good look, bit of a nosey you might say. Me and my brother ran over to her, my brother feeling a bit anoyed at her noseyness shouted "What do you think you are doing!?". The old lady never batted an eye lid, never seemed bothered by my brothers shouting. However, she did eventually respond.
"I'm sorry young man, I didn't man to intrude. I used to live here a long time ago."
The lady seemed very nice, polite and friendly. We'd had problems with people camping on our grounds without permission so my brother had been concerned about this happening again but as she spoke to us all worry left my brother.
Still holding his air rifle my brother asked,
"When did you live here then?"
She replied,
"Oh a long time ago, many years before you two were born. I was looking to see if it had changed much."
My brother picked up on what she said, opened the gate and invited her to come and look around. The lady stepped through the gate and started to walk up the drive way towards the house. She was talking to us along the way but as we got closer to the house the lady went quiet - we opened the door to let her in and she had vanished. While there was plenty of foliage in the garden, there was nowhere she could of possibly hidden so quickly. Needless to say, both myself and my brother were confused! Our parents, when we told them, simply thought we had imagined it all. What? Both of us imagining the same thing? Doubtful.
That wasn't the last we saw of the old lady, there was one more event I'd like to tell you about. As the house was so big it was difficult to keep warm so me and my brother often shared a bedroom, especially during winter. I remember being laid in bed, I've no idea what the time was but my brother woke me up.
"Steve, Steve! Look!"
As I woke and looked to where my brother was pointing to, I saw the very same old lady that we saw in the garden, only this time she was sat on the end of my bed! By the time we jumped out of bed to run to our parents, she had gone.
I'd love to know who she was and why she visited us. I do believe she was a past (possibly current?) resident of the house, maybe someone with such a love of the place who wanted to visit or simply couldn't leave.
2. Crying child.
This occurance apparently only happened a few times but noteworthy all the same.
Being the youngest and a small child I would often be taken to be early while my brother stayed up later with our parents. There were a number of nights were after I had been taken to bed my parents would hear a child crying. As normal parents do once they heard the crying they came upstairs to settle me down again. The only problem is that when they got to me they would repeatedly find me sound asleep, this happened everytime they heard the crying. It became quite baffling to them, they could not understand what was going on?
Things changed one night when I was still up with them all watching TV downstairs. The crying started again yet there I was, sat quite happily watching the TV show and my borther by my side.
I am not sure what my parents thought when this happened, I do know though, they probably changed their opinions on what my brother and me had told them!
Now there are new homes on the land we once owned, I have often wondered if the old lady is still there? Do people see her in the newer houses? Is she lost now, confused by the fact that her house is no longer there? Do people still hear the baby crying? I have been tempted to write to the people in the new houses to ask if they ever have any unusual things happen, although I'm not sure I should, I'd hate to worry people without cause and probably end up looking a bit strange!
